I hear all the fuss about the convoy .. which one throws the longest tight beam .. budget friendly time to find out what they’re all about
The 3x21D will be pretty hard to beat, as it is the largest smooth reflector flashlight Convoy offers. It also has a solid 25A buck driver paired with SBT90, so throws an impressive amount of lumens for that distance.
There are other throwers Convoy has like the 3x21A, L7, L8, etc. But the 3x21D destroys them all.

While the SBT90 throws very far, and it outputs a lot of lumens, it doesn’t have much runtime compared to other emitters.
Also, it creates a lot of heat, so it’s best for flashlights with a lot of mass and a large head.
A more practical emitter is the SFT40.
There are practical emitters (not including the SBT90) that throw further than the SFT40, but they don’t offer much in usable spill like the SFT40 does.
So, depending on your use, the best emitter is probably the SBT90 or the SFT40.
