Cheap and nice diffusor foil usable for flashlights from old LCD backlight

I disassembled an old Laptop, the cells were from 2003 and all below 1V

But when I took the LCD apart there were 4 foils for diffusion, two were horizontal and vertically orinted diffusing so useless for flashlights

And the other two are good one litzle and one good diffusion

Can you post a picture so we know what to look for?

two diffusor foils from LCD panel

without diffusor

with soft diffusor

with strong diffusor

The “horizontal and vertical diffusing foils” are called polarizing filters and they are not meant to diffuse anything…
They are meant to block light coming in at a wrong angle.
If you put polarizing filters on a flashlight you are essentially reducing the lumen output by a ton.

no the polarising filters are on the Panel there were 4 foils and a plate in the backlight
2 diffusor foils and 2 foils that stretched the light to left/right the other up/down

the backlight was old high voltage tube
then there was a 2.5mm thick plate with a point moire

then came the 4 diffusor foils

then the LCD panel

At least one of those is polarizing film.

nope the optical film were 2 foils
the light guide path should be the horizontal and vertical foils
the plate counts to backlight

the polarizing films are glued the the LCD glass panel
polarizing film should not affect the light pattern if its not combined with a frosted surface like glare and non glare LCD´s
