there is a service called ammoseek that will show you what websites have ammo in stock and how much it is per round. just click the “in stock 22lr” page and find whichever brand and style of 22lr that you want. it is useful to compare prices, but remember that they do not account for shipping costs.

All I have to say about this is, those gun makers and ammo makers should lobby congress to allow Obama to be able to run for another term. They made more money during the last 6 years than ever.
The gun nuts created their own shortage and then they cry about the short supply/high prices.

The goverment and suppliers being slow to get them to the store—No shortage here I have all I’ll ever need— Just buy it when you find it—It’s funny we buy stock—silver —etc. for investments—I found some older boxes of 50 Winchester 9mm from Wal Mart—price was a whopping $3.99
I typically see it on the shelf at local Pawn shops more than the big stores. A bit of a mark-up, but that would likely be the best way to get some quickly.
A few weeks ago, a local Wal-Mart here had a lot of CCI Stingers on the shelf. Not sure how long before they were sold out though.

Georgia is completely out of 22LR and has been for a while (I’ve been on and off the hunt for .22 for over a year and I still can’t find a reliable source). I’ve bought some off of people on Craigslist and the like, but they jack up the prices. I just bought 1000 CCI’s for $120 a box because it’s impossible to find them anywhere else other than the gougers.
A lot of guys will go to Walmart at 7am and stand around waiting on them to unload the shipment, buy up the only few boxes that came in, and then double their investment a few hours later on Craigslist. It’s sad that the guys that enjoy shooting guns are the ones that are perpetuating the shortage. I guess I’m to blame as well considering I purchased some, but it wasn’t without regret.
If anyone is feeling charitable, knows of a good source and wouldn’t mind making a few bucks on the side, I could definitely use some rounds shipped to me. wink wink
I picked up a full case from one of my local gun shops at 4 cents a round
I probably would have purchased 10,000 rounds if not more (bank account pending). It’s like gas prices, unless there is a flat out miracle, it’s highly unlikely they will ever go back to the prices I remember as a kid growing up.

I didn’t care for bush as I had family overseas, but this guy is just ugh on almost every level. Reminds me of Jimmy Carter in a way. I like a few things about his presidency but if he got everything he wanted, we’d be pretty bad off imo (and the banks really love this guy)…

There are alot of factors, one of the biggest one is our king is closing down lead manufacturing plants. But there is alot of other factors not worth going into. But USA is not running out of ammo, it is a supply and demand going on right now. I have 6 main rounds that I use and have stocked up for years of shooting for myself but I am now stocking up for my kids.
The only way to tell if you hit them with a 50 cal, is to shine a UV light on the area isn’t it?
I’d bet stores are reluctant to sell lead ammunition, given all that’s recently learned about where the lead ends up.
Cleaning lead out of meat turns out to be a big problem with no simple clean solution.
“Hey, who knew?” doesn’t protect a seller nowadays.

As a hunter who spends a fair amount of time in gun shops, I can almost guarantee they aren’t concerned with people consuming lead in meat.
I eat wild game. Though I eat quite a lot less than a lot of my friends and family (mainly because I work too much to hunt as much as I’d like). I’ve also had lead poisoning and don’t know anyone else who has. I sincerely doubt it came from deer I shot and ate. I’m fairly selective about what parts of the critter is saved and processed. We have something of an overpopulation problem with several game animals here in NC, so no one I know uses evvvvery part of the animal. Anything remotely torn up by the bullet is discarded. I’ve also never heard of any notices from Hunters for the Hungry saying don’t donate game taken with lead.
There ain’t no way the shops that sold me the bullets gave a moment’s thought about me potentially consuming lead from animals taken with the bullets they sold me. That’s maybe more steps of separation than a gas station selling cigs and the buyer getting cancer years later.
Lead poisoning is kinda hard to get unless you’ve been shot and the bullet is still in you. I most likely got it from travelling in Africa. Parts of Africa can get a little dicey in terms of sanitation depending on where you are (to put it mildly).
At any rate… For those looking to buy ammo… If your local shop is sold out of everything or has exorbitant prices: check gunbot (the link I posted earlier). My local shop of choice has slightly better prices than what I’ve seen on gunbot (due mainly to shipping costs), but not by much at all.
