Yep, I just ordered one from him. Done. I think this is going to have to be my last flashlight for a while. This is a milestone for me too, because it’s the very first time that I’ve said that!
Tmart only stocks the CW version. The cheapest price on that model I found when I was searching around was $54.89 shipped from Lightmalls (for those who don’t like AliExpress).
It’s not really high-low-strobe in the traditional sense, rather it’s high-low with a hidden strobe. You probably already know that, but the clarification is for other would-be owners who read this.
My NW King arrived today*. But why in the world did I wait so long to get one? "I'm not sure I really want to get into multiple 18650 flashlights" I said to myself. "I don't really need that many lumens" I said to myself. "I don't want to make the rest of my collection seem less awesome" I said to myself. Well, screw all that nonsense. The Sky Ray King is everything this hobby is about. It's seriously awesome. Get one.
*After all my fussing over price, I ended up paying an extra 8 bucks to get it shipped via HK Speedpost so I could have it as soon as possible ;)
I just was on Fancyflashlights site, and according to them they have a new batch of Kings in Black. http://www.fancyflashlights.com/goods.php?id=442 A little more than the “gold” color but still the same light.
So it is $72.00 for a NW King. Sound reasonable, or not ? Thanks
Also-does the King ONLY take unprotected 18650’s? Or can I use protected ones? Saw somewhere that it only took unprotected
18650’s…
OK-one more question. I saw the Callies Kustom 18650’s in 3100mah,but they’re 68.8mm in PBC mode. Does anyone know if they’ll fit the King without any problems ? Thanks-thanks- thanks.
I’m running protected raised button top 18650s in it myself, and they are also precisely 68.8mm in length. So unless there is some variation amongst Sky Ray Kings, you should be fine.
$72.00 seems to be the average price for a NW King, and if you like black, fancyflashlights.com is the only choice.
This thread is about the version of the Sky Ray King that comes with Neutral White (NW) LEDs. Some of us are prepared to pay more to get a warmer tint, and $61.70 is still the cheapest price I’ve seen.
You would have to figure shipping. 405g=.450kg I would suspect for China Post, about $6-$10 and another couple bucks for using the agent. Probably $55 for neutral and $52 for cool white.
I went through the ordering process just to see what they would come back with, and:
I actually meant to get a quote for the NW version, but I must have clicked the wrong link. Anyway, this should give everyone else a better idea. About an extra 5 bucks or so for agent fees and HK post (to Australia, anyway). Didn’t take them long to get back to me either. Almost suspiciously cheap.
If only I needed 2 Sky Ray Kings. But I don’t.
(might be hesitant though, after running through some worst case scenarios in my head involving faults and returns)
EDIT: I neglected to read the following:
“Read before payment: each order need pay for two times, First payment is for products cost+demestic shipping+agent fee , Second payment is for international shipping cost. Visit How to order? if you are new user. please estimate international shipping cost in advance to avoid the shipping cost exceed your budget. Thanks.”
Going by the international shipping estimator, we’d be looking at an additional 9-15 US dollars. I think it’d still come in cheaper than $61.70 for the NW version (which is Lightmalls price) but not by much.
