For the money an A60 is likely the best choice formthrow vs $. I’ve tested several of them in the 65k-72k range. Though, like pointed out above it does have a small spot and little spill. A HD2010, for a little more money can give you good spill, a fat spot and appx 50-55K throw. A60’s can be had for under $20 and HD2010 in the $30-35 range.

The HD2010 looks great, but it seems everybody and their brother has one. Still on the list though. I’m looking for an XM-L emitter so I get a little spill so the Jacob A60 is out.

everybody and their brother have one for a good reason though it does its job well and is a good size…

i dont have an a60 but it is well reviewed and enjoyed by many members

the hd2010 has some good amount of useable spill

I’d have a good look at the fandyfire/skyray stl. There’s also the skyray a0 that can be a killer little thrower with a resistor mod.

MXDL SA-76 "Turbohead" (PICS warning)

The A0 clone for twenty bucks on ebay has possibilities.

I’ve narrowed it down to these

If anyone knows the reflector diameter of any of these please post. I can probably find diameters for some of them searching, but I’ve read so many thrower threads lately I don’t know how many more I can take. And if there is any reason I SHOULDN”T buy any of these that would be good to hear also. Keep in mind an inexpensive light that just needs a mod to make it great is right up my alley.

Save your money for a little while and get a K40.

Far away from cheap thrower

There’s a supbeam version for about $20 I think… Still not that cheap, but it’s still a super thrower.

If you can give me a link for one around 20 bucks maybe I’ll try it.

Sorry, I meant $20 cheaper than the L3 illuminations one.
