Chinese knives?

Where is everyone buying their Chinese knives from these days? Exduct doesn’t seem to carry that many. Doingoutdoor doesn’t seem to have many either.

I see complaints for FastTech. The Sanrenmu GB-763 doesn’t seem to be available anymore either.

Fasttech have a few models and it is cheap.
Exduct have a lot of models and it is a little expensive.
Ebay is expensive and have most of models.

I use FastTech and eBay mostly.

A few times I had a friend send me some knives from Taobao as well.

There are a few decent sellers on Amazon too.

FastTech

Exduct are getting more stock slowly.

AliExpress - Hello Gift Limited amongst loads of others.

Great Wall Outdoor have a good range but can be out of stock when ordered. They are showing the SanRenMu GB-763 for $11.70

Manafont, when they decide to take orders again, new management.

may i ask why you are buying knives from china…do you lose them that often or do you abuse them that much…

a knife is a cutting tool and i don’t scrimp on my tools…my edc during the week is a benchmade cqc7 designed by emerson…fri/sat/sun i carry a benchmade apparition designed by osbourne…

if you need a good knife buy a second from cold steel for about half the price of a first run…

Why not buy them from China?

I've never tried one of these Chinese knives, but many get good reviews here, so I snuck in a Ganzo G712 in my last FT order. Maybe I'll post a review, in a few weeks.

i buy american if i can and you get what you pay for…some things are just too pricy to buy american all the time…case in point would be levis or dickies both of which will cost 150 and up for one pair of american made jeans…there are good knives from china…i have a cutlery set i bought at the sharper image several years ago that rival the henckels they are copied after but i trust the sharper image to only carry quality stuff…cheaper rarely means better…

I have a bunch of knives I’ve gotten from China. I like them.

Cheaper does not necessarily mean better, but Chinese knives (from manufacturers like Sanrenmu (who make knives for Spyderco and Benchmade) and Enlan (who are sold rebranded as Bokers and Schrades) are as good as knives that cost two or three times the price you pay for them.

Cold Steel make extremely good knives for the price you pay, I have a fair few of them now, but even the Kudu, which is Cold Steel’s cheapest (made in China) knife, is only marginally cheaper than some of the offerings from Sanrenmu. Their other knives, especially those made G10 (like my 6” Hold Out) are much more expensive. That said, I think everyone should own a Voyager. The clip point is a terrific slicer and it makes a great folding carving knife.

where did you buy these knives from?

taobao?

I have enough Chinese knives already. 8Cr13MoV just doesn’t cut it for me. :weary: I prefer carbon steels or higher end stainless for edge retention.

i hear you chloe…if you are ever in the position to have someone make you a custom fixed blade you can always buy an 8 or 12 inch bastard file and they can use that for the blade with full tang construction…

I've been buying from FastTech, DoingOutdoor (on Ebay), and Chinese Knives seller (Ebay). I just bought my first Kershaw from a US Seller down the street (ok, well about 2 hours away, but he might as well be down the street compared to buying from China). I've yet to order from Exduct.
