What are you guys getting for yourself for Christmas this year? I’m curious. Will you be buying new flashlights? A lot of shops are trying to get your dollars this time of year, by offering discounts, coupon codes, and special offers. Will you be taking advantage of any of those deals?
I just ordered some new cells of various sizes from Li-Ion Wholesale as well as some 10180’s from eBay, since Li-Ion Wholesale didn’t have that size. Also from eBay, I bought some 90W PWM motor controller / LED driver modules with a dial to control the PWM value. Nothing fancy. I already have a lot of LEDs and drivers, and some other components and parts lying around that need to be put to some use. I feel goofy buying these new cells though. A while back, I had posted a WTS thread and got rid of several cells of various sizes that I found I wasn’t using. The guys that bought those got a great deal, since I sold them super cheap, and they were mostly unused (some had been used for “testing” only). Now, here I am paying full price again to re-stock. But, there’s a difference this time. I’ve got flashlights now that I didn’t have then, that need these cells.
I also have need of some new desktop computer parts. I have one computer needs both RAM and a hard drive because both are failing. The RAM already has been showing one error for several months in one of the modules. And the hard drive is failing from mechanical wear. It hasn’t shown any errors yet (actually just realized I haven’t checked S.M.A.R.T. in a while, maybe it’s time to look again), but it makes a bit of noise when it spins up. I will probably get an SSD. Another computer needs a RAM upgrade because it just doesn’t have enough RAM to run the newest software. And, I have an aging PS3 that needs a new hard drive because the one in it is full and the PS3 won’t boot up. So, I’ll be going to Newegg.com for that stuff, unless someone can suggest a better place.
So… am I the only one buying stuff for myself and using “the Christmas Season” as personal justification? Is anybody else doing it this year?
Well, yeah. I’m waiting on the DBSAR lantern. And the D1S+ that Hank Wang was going to make, but it fell through. THAT would have made a nice Christmas present to myself! The FW3A is interesting to me, but for some reason I find it easy enough to not join the list. I dunno. Maybe after it’s actually made and on the market, I might find I have to get one.

Canon PowerShot SX70 HS was on my list as well as Garmin dēzlCam™ 785 LMT-S however since I`ve spend quite few dimes (we do not have pennies anymore in Canada) on my flashlights this year I have to see how many nickels is left in the jar. Last year I got Tomtom Trucker 620 on a recommendation from a friend and lets just say we are no longer friends since my impression of the unit was total waist of my money……
Hopefully there is enough left over to get at least one of my wishes come true.
I’ve got the FF PL47 and new Nitecore UMS4 charger that fits 21700 batteries comfortably. Both are in my wife’s possession to be wrapped and set under the Christmas tree.
I did put a quick battery in and test for function,fit and finish before I handed it off to her though.
Got all my Xmas shopping done already. Was really wanting the Reylight AA Pineapple in copper but, I have over spent as usual this Xmas. So it will have to wait till sometime after the new years. I did manage to sneak a FourSevens under the radar though so, maybe I shouldn’t complain.
Computer problems are not fun any time of the year.

Yeah, the computer that needs both RAM and a hard drive is my main. I’ve already had to replace the power supply a couple years ago. But, it’s a powerful enough computer that it will do what I need a computer to do for at least several more years, so it’s worth fixing. Maybe I’ll upgrade the case and get USB 3 on the front panel. The motherboard already has USB 3.0 onboard and at the back. But the case was an old used one I had lying around. I need to check if there’s a firmware update for USB 3.1 for my mobo.

Mainly got it for the single bump to signal lane change feature (I’m spoiled by my work truck) but I’ll definitely have some fun playing with the rest of the stuff it does too.
For a few years, I did a lot of paying for services on my card for work stuff and getting reimbursed for it. I started cashing in the points on the card for Cabela’s gift certificates. Finally added them all up and got a Ruger EC9S. That was my combo birthday (in Dec.) and Christmas present to myself this year.

I have one of those. Mighty fine pistol for the price. Hard to beat. It didn’t like Aluminum cased ammo I got a good deal on but it will eat anything else.
@David, this year I picked up three copper lights and a few others, all Olight on the Black Friday sale and got 3 free keychain lights.
Now I am deciding on who I should give which of the free lights to for xmass.
I have a bunch of the BudgetlightForum 348’s I will be gifting to folks this year also.
Hope to convince Mrs. Santa that the lights are all I want for xmass……
