Clearish liquid on xtar vp2

I just received an xtar vp2 and when unboxing it I noticed what appears to a clearish type of liquid running along the silver connectors of the chargers.

I wiped a bit off but there is still some liquid. Almost looks like vaseline.

Sorry for the strange question but anyone have an idea what this would be?

Safe to use this?

its usually a light oil/lubrication they apply for the contacts to prevent corrosion.

I haven’t noticed that on my 2 VP2’s, or my 2 VP1’s for that matter. It must be something new they’re doing.
