This is an awesome light and a fantastic deal that Rey has put together for us. The SD10 is an amazing light as it normally ships from the factory but add in the custom UI, the 3khz PWM, the special aluminum AA adapter, the custom NW LED option, OP reflector, BLF special engraving and, most of all, the price of $39 shipped and how the hell can’t this be a complete winner. Heck, Lumintop would be wise to adopt our custom UI for all their electronic switched lights.

Isn’t this usually a 3xAA light? Did they change it into a 4xAA?

Apparently. I take it that it fits, and the driver can handle any voltage so that should not be a problem.

The driver handle in 0.8-4.5V. The new holder 4xAA is 2S2P… 3V.

So, the 4AA carrier with AA NiMHs will fit into the body? and not mar up the sides of the battery sleeves? Just asking, because most D cell lights will not hold 4xAA without damaging the battery sleeves. ID measurement of the body? Please?

Also, the driver is Boost/Buck? If it takes .8v to 4.5v would it not be boost/buck? Well, definitely boost anyhow. How's the efficiency when only using 2S/2P with Alkalines, or even with NiMHs. Boost drivers usually sap Alkalines dry real fast, NiMHs too.

I might actually want one if the questions can be answered.

About 4AA carrier will fit or not, it can take 32650, may be tight. I remember someone doing Lumintop SD10 Mod before :shy:

probably every other tint junkie will be in too.

For me it's a matter of green . I can hope that tints above the LINE are close to the line or instead just buy tints that are below the line. I can handle red over green any day of the week .

protected 18650 works fine, with the old spring,but there will be no reverse protection.

Don't use a MOS,which will make the circuit less efficient.
