And the winner is:
DrJones!
Here's a light that is older than I can tell. It's a 2C Maglite, but it must be an oldie, since the O-ring that is between the head and body, is actually in the head, not on the body. Never seen that before. Also, the switch is held in by a threaded retainer ring, not the usual c clip, so it has to be a few years old for sure.
It was sent to me by another member and it had some finish marring. I stripped it and it's not polished. I left it more of a brushed finish. I ended up throwing in three XP-G2 S2 2B leds on copper stars, onto a copper heat sink, (disc and copper fitting style), and used a used SRK reflector that is OP finish. The driver was a Q-lite and I removed all the 7135 chips and put them on a slave board, with some more 7135 chips, so there's 16x7135 chips on it. I also changed the MCU to a DrJones lumodrv one. The switch is now a momentary SMD switch on top of the old switch housing. It takes one 18650 and comes with a sleeve and a spacer for it. You can use protected or unprotected cells, but a protected with a button top might be a little too tight. The tail cap threads are not all that good and neither are the body threads for the tail cap. Keep them greased heavily and when you remove/replace the tail cap, you might want to be gentle with it. Can't do much about that, since both threads are getting old, replacing the tail cap won't do much for it. Just keep it greased.
Hey, it's a freebie ok?
