Hello BLF folks!

Continue the upgrade plan. We have a new idea with plan to make a separate power bank for it. It will also be a holster, everyone can carry it easily everyday. Just like the Glasses Case

How about your Think. Or comment your better idea and opinion.

↓↓We’re obsessed with “overengineering” budget lights!! ↓↓

:white_check_mark: Sunlight in Your Pocket: 4000 lumens + 600m throw. Yes, it can literally light up a football field.(Just a joke lol)

:white_check_mark: Marathon Runtime: 8+ hours turbo mode. Includes 5000mAh battery more portable than 21700– “low battery anxiety” shouldn’t exist (My dreaming battery).

:white_check_mark: Tactical Swagger: Strike bezel for… uh, “convincing” stubborn objects. Sticks your car hood/workshop fridge like a boss.

Real Talk:

We hope to spend enough time (maybe 18 months) to develop because we kept blowing up prototypes (RIP version like TS10 ; )

I have a non-pro HD01. Very impressive. Better for many uses than the much more expensive Olight Arkfeld Ultra. The HD01 has a much tighter beam, can use the main emitter in any brightness with the laser, has a side light, and weighs less.

From my experiences with the HD01, I suggest the following improvements for future models:

  • For many users, a shortcut to turbo is one of the most used features. The HD01 has a double-click shortcut to turbo. However, from what I’ve read the HD01 Pro has no turbo shortcut.
    • Instead double-click activates UV. I suggest making double-click activate turbo and 3 clicks activate UV. If you want to keep the 3-click shortcut to strobe, then make 5 clicks activate UV. Or maybe 1 click+hold.
  • The corners at the back top end of the light feel sharp on the hand. It would feel much more comfortable if they were rounded off.
  • Offer an optional low-profile clip that is 1-way bezel-down only.

A rotary or sliding switch for channel selection would be great.

Consider ZWB2 filter for UV.

Unfortunately I am more interested in quality than low cost.

  1. Removable battery. This is the main reason I won’t buy one. I don’t care that it is longer or heavier or fatter or…

  2. Main LED in 3500-4500K. The current 90CRI is nice, but I want more details available about the LED being used and won’t accept 6000K as the only option.

  3. 520nm Laser. Or even more unique wavelengths. Not the cheap 532nm DPSS diodes that leak 1065 IR and are ancient laser technology nowadays.

  4. UV is fine (365nm required), deep red 660+ nm is also useful.

  5. Better UI than just a couple of buttons. Magnetic switches, anduril for the main LED, independent control of R,G,B,CW,WW LEDs in the side array or the ability to do custom programming either via Bluetooth or a USB cable via an open source interface.

I would market this as a all you can do EDC flashlight:

  1. Removable battery
  2. USB-C
  3. main LED 519A Nichia 4000/5000K. Moonlight mode, Steps ramp up/down and not just simple L-M-H cycle, no SOS, no Strobe.
  4. Boost Driver and Anduril UI.
  5. UV 365nm with ZWB2 filter
  6. Side light RGB, white 4000/5000K with ramp up/down function for all color
  7. For the switch design, I thought it would be cool if you manage to do this: (This is samsung TV remote control)

Focus only on the directional pad and select button:
    up: main LED
    down: lock
    left: side LED
    right: UV LED
    select: click = on/off, hold = ramp up/down

This kind of switch has probably the advantage, where people always know which switch does what. Even in the darkness.

8.optional:

  • laser, I dont need such a thing but if there is still enough space, then why not.

However this should not able to switch on multiple LEDs at the same time. I wouldnt need that, but maybe someone would need this kind of feature.

2 Thanks

Being cheaper probably most would overlook the builtin battery and maybe a simple battery replacement design
