Compact universal charger?

Can anybody recommend a 1 or two channel charger which can fit anything from NIMH AA/AAA to a multitude of li-ions? Would like to fit 16340 all the way to 21700 but really just need 14500-18650 in addition to the nimh. I have some good home setups but right now my travel bag is lacking as I only have the Xtar PB2 and the little magnet charger from cough olight.

Olight UC, but the charging current is fixed (800 mA).

the Olight UC has been charging my eneloops and LiIons for years… no issues

the charge rate tapers down as the battery fills up:
.

since the maximum charge rate is 750mA, it would take about 4 hours to charge up a 3000mAh 18650… I mostly use it for 18350, 16340, 14500, AA Eneloop and AAA eneloop.

Of course it does, when it’s in the CV (constant voltage) phase. But you can’t reduce the CC (constant current) phase current.

Btw your power supply appears to be slightly overloaded as the voltage is rather low, even on 0.5 A.

My Olight UC died after very limited usage so my opinion of it is very negative :confounded:

Xtar Rocket SV2

It’s a good all around charger for Nimh and Li Ion.

Good charger, but I have had several of them break the little plastic post that holds the slider spring in place, really a poor design in that regard.

The UC is good too but you are limited with the fixed charging rate which is too high for some of the smaller cells and slow for the larger ones.

I had mine for years without any issues. I also didn’t use it much either.

I heard the same. The plastic post, spring holder breaks.

Good suggestions. I have the Olight UC and it is my backup travel charger since its so compact. Looking at something like the Armytek Handy Pro in C1 or C2 variety. Any competition out there?

Xtar FC-2

Vapcell U2 if you can if bare the blinky lights. Mine used as my travel charger regularly, also seems to be okay with charging from a USB solar panel, of that matters to you.

Edito add, I see the Xtar Comes with USB C, that would probably be a decoding factor for me, if I were buying again.

That Vapcell U2 would compliment my home S4+ nicely…

I have a few Liitokala 101’s & 202’s that I like.They are compact & I pack a couple of them along when traveling.

They are HKJ “approved” also.

Also to add, as I had a ‘flashlight clear up’ today, cleaned dirty threads etc and used full fleet of chargers today to top up cells etc. - the U2 only charges NiMh at 0.5Ah, not a problem for me but if you were in a hurry to charge C cells or something, that could be an annoyance.

My compact charger is the Liitokala Lii-100. It charges my AAs, my AAAs, and my 18650s. I tend to go with the 500mA charge rate no matter what, I’m rarely in a rush to fill my batteries.

My only issue with it is that it won’t take a 21700, it’s too short for that, so when I go out with a 21700 torch I take the Xtar MC1 Plus instead.

I love my little Fenix ARE-D1. It’ll charge any size/chemistry from AAA to 26650 and 21700, charges at 0.5A / 1A / 2A, and runs off USB.
