I know the recommended battery for the L6 is generally the Keeppower ICR26650 5200mAh, but looking at HKJ’s test it is very easy to find better performing cells. So I’m a bit hesitating. Why the KP ICR is considered the best match? Is it only because of its protection’s circuitry, making it a safer choice for 2x configuration?

I’m not sure where you heard that, but the recommended battery for the L6 is the Liitokala.

Maybe as far as protected cells are concerned, the top choice is the KeepPower 5200.

Eh doesnt simon himself recommend to use keeppower icr? not that u must but i never heard that litokala was the main battery choice for this light and ive read almost the entire thread of this massive light. I will myself tho use efest batteries for this light once it arrives.

I guess this particular thread is mostly about the stock L6.

If you read this thread you get a very different battery choice.
