I had a clear L6 I modded and sold, and the batteries I still have fit tighter in my new Black L6. Black litto need the tube off and pushed through to get out. Not tight enough to hurt the battery at all, but the air can’t pass to allow them to fall out even with a bump. I can see just the addition of the metal strip up the side of a protected cell making them too tight. My black Keeps are just slightly looser.
Didn;t know the tubes got smaller, I initially just thought it was the difference in the black compared to clear anno thickness at first. But I did notice the difference.
Maybe that is why the L6 has had good coupon deals lately for $45? I just bought another black NW this morning.
It was around April of this year that certain batteries seemed to grow in diameter and the L6 tube got a tiny bit smaller. So people started measuring. Some were tubes were 26.79mm and some were 27.12mm. A lot of variations.
I think about here or the page before is a good starting point if you want to read about it.
Do you imply that KP protected the Shockli cell, hence the 4mm length difference? And by the way are Shockli rebranding cell from a big name or are they doing their own stuff?
wow that 6000mah cell KP looks interesting its gonna cost alot i bet just 1 battery, i hope Nkon will bring that in… they never seem to even have the other 5200mah battery in stock i hope my L6 arrives soon im anxious to get this badboy before holidays hopefully unless shipping screws up…
My l6 came today from gearbest after almost 1 month of travel. Its an amazing flashlight it feels so well built for the price its crazy nothing remote what i can think of comes close. I am using the efest 4200mah batteries they work perfect u can see on the pic there is some space left i was worried they wouldnt fit maybe but they do. Happy to own a few lights from convoy and now the l6 in hand
Make sure the reflector is screwed down snugly so you get good heat transfer from the mcpcb to the body. If not the led output could shift to blue very quickly and burn up.
