Convoy L6... XHP70 Beast!

I honestly cannot imagine using the L6 or even the L2 without the tactical ring. KawiBoy sold me on it when he explained his slip-grip-deploy thinking back when we were working on the L2. It’s “practical perfection” in use. It will be even more practical for those who find the new clear anodizing not “grippy” enough. Unless you completely open your hand there is no way you’re going to drop it as the tac-ring acts as a stop and leaves your thumb right at the tail switch. :+1:

Bingo!

Over 4 hours on high (not to be confused with turbo) with 5000mAh cells?

Impressive indeed, particularly considering that the cells used in this testing are a bit lower in capacity than the recommended cells. Thank you for bugging unknown00101 and for posting that.

Here is the graph for those that don’t like clicking links.

Kewlness…

I just ordered an L2 from FT, and wondered about that. Figured it was more of an anti-roll mechanism than anything else, but that’s a nice description of its utility.

Pretty good, too, ’cause I use an eye-index hold on my lights (icepick style) vs the way lots of people hold lights (sword style), so that’s a nifty way to work the tailswitch and still maintain a good grip on the big donk.

(Not so much with a side-clicky, unless you want to work the switch with your pinky.)

I even noticed that the so called cigar grip with the tactical ring is surprisingly manageable as well. A feature possible due to the 26650 cells instead of 4x18650 cells… nice

Has anyone found a nice holster for this light yet? I know there was a bunch of guys looking for one a little while back, but none of them fit the head properly.

Texas_Ace,

I’ve been so busy with non-BLF stuff that I truly haven’t had time to keep up here. I just wanted to comment on this and compliment your work on the the Texas Avenger driver series.

I love what I’m seeing and that you’re working with ToyKeeper and Tom E for the firmware/UI and I definitely want to have a custom light or three with your drivers.

Keep up the good work! :+1:

Frankly, that’s what I thought the tac-grip was for, a sort of “syringe hold”.

Are there holsters for bigger Maglites? One of them might fit.

(I honestly have no idea; just throwing it out there…)

Gotta share this right quick… I’ve given my wife quite an assortment of lights, right? She’s running around getting ready for bed, about to go outside and feed the dog, with a headlamp on her head (off) and carrying a little Brass Beauty. I asked her why she’s tying her hand up with the Brass Beauty when she’s got a light on her head??? I just am! lol Wimmen…

I read that part too fast and got this mental picture of your dog wearing a headlamp.

Was thinking, “Damn, that’s one well-prepared dog!”.

Shhhhh, he’s THAT rotten, don’t give him any ideas! Yellow Lab, crazy dog pushes food out of his bowl or shovels dirt on top of food in his bowl if he doesn’t like it. Never seen a picky Lab before when it came chow time.

Put a lamp on his head and, like with my son, the light would be erratic as a laser show at a punk metal concert! lol ADHD dog.

Guys what’s the best aftermarket driver for the L6?
I want fet turbo, then approximately the same levels as the stock L6, except for the very lowest mode.
Temperature regulation preferred.

That’s awesome!
See how contagious this disease is? She now instictively knows one light is never enough! :+1:

Received mine from banggood today. Included white buttons, o-rings, switch and lanyard

Did you order the switch separately?

 :+1:
I didn’t know he was adding in the switch too! Awesome! I just asked him to start including the o-rings, switch boots and lanyard. I LOVE it when he one-ups my suggestions.
That’s a nice looking lanyard too. :+1:

Nope

That’s awesome! Mine shipped from Simon. Hopefully I’ll get the switch as well. I already have a spare driver w/mode switch
