Haha good point.
However nothing is perfectly anodised and even if it was perfectly anodised, you can screw the extension on or off a few times and it should be enough to wear it out enough for contact.
Just tested and mine (even with one thread hanging) is enough to make contact.
Well despite what I said, I was bored and decided to grind down the inside with a dremel.
It takes a long time but I eventually got there.

Also as tristanxoxo mentioned, I did have a little bit of trouble with the anodising but after a bit of dry unscrewing/screwing it was ok.
A better way to do it would probably be to find that brass contact thing in the Convoy M1 and hammer it into the extension tube.
The tail cap, for some reason, I had no problems.
