Convoy magnetic ring + suggestions for mod

The last of my Ali express order comes in today and I got a LED metal switch for my C8, some Convoy holsters and a magnetic ring.

My question is, has anyone installed one of these magnetic rings on there C8 or C8+. The website said that it will fit those 2 lights but they are kind of heavy for the magnet. So I was wondering if anyone has used the magnet and if so what glue did you use?

Also I have this FET + 7135 Driver - 20mm - MTN-20DDm and a CREE XP-L HI V2 3A LED on Noctigon 20mm MCPCB. I was wondering what would I use to build a flashlight around it?

The magnets I received aren’t strong enough to hold a S2+(18650) at a 90° angle.
I’m pretty they wouldn’t be very helpful on a C8+ unless you were just hanging it upside down.

Thanks for the suggestion for a custom mod.

I wondered if the magnet would be strong enough. At least it wasn’t expensive and I can find something else to use it for.

You definitely got a bad batch or something. Mine have no issues holding an S2+ to anything

@Jeffgoldblum @INeedMoreLumens I can’t use the magnetic rings that I got because I replaced the silicone on/off switch with a metal LED lighted switch and the switch sticks above the ring. I may switch to a clear silicone button with the LED so that I can use the magnetic ring. @Jeffgoldblum what kind of adhesive did you use for the ring?

Just whatever little bottle was on sale. Probably clear gorilla glue on most of them. Or super glue. Epoxy. Anything like that.

I wonder if yours sat in some hot van or mailbox or something and lost some strength. They’re definitely sketchy on a c8 but the s2’s are solid.

It will not hold my C8 at a 90° angle but it will upside down. Plus the ring sits below the lanyard holes.
