Is the S6 compatible with the S2+ short tube? If not, is there a compatible short tube?
Thanks.
It is totally compatible! I’m currently running an S6 with a copper S2+ shorty tube and Keeppower 18350 battery. A Thyrm finger ring (clone) fits perfectly too if you decide to go that way.
I’m currently waiting on an orange S2+ shorty tube, and orange lighted metal switch for the S6 too.
Square/rectangular threads or trapezoidal?
My S6 is relatively new and has rectangular threads. I’m not sure if it ever came with the trapezoidal threads. What I’m saying is I don’t know either way!
The black shorty body I ordered along with the S6 (from Simon) didn’t even give me the option of trapezoidal or rectangular , so maybe it’s always been rectangular.
The copper came in rectangular. I don’t remember if I had a choice with the orange tube, but if I did I knew the S6 was itself was rectangular. Hopefully this makes sense.
Edit: I just checked my Ali Express order that’s still in the mail, and I did choose rectangular for the orange tube
To each his own … But I’m quite happy with the S6 Shorty with a SFT-25R in 6500K with a 5A buck driver. Thing has some serious throw, and more than enough close up spill for walking around.
Thank you all for answering my questions. February 8 can’t get here soon enough.
One thing to note though.
You can’t really use the Convoy black clip on clip with it.
There’s like a 5mm gap where the clip would clip on.
Do I see a lighted switch? Is that the red 16 mm?
Yes and I replaced the silver metal button with a black one.
I call this my Deadpool light.
I ordered this:
And this:
I changed black metal buttons on my S6 back to rubber as rubber has excellent tactile feeling while metal is mushy. Also doesn’t tail stand with metal
What’s the battery drain like with the Convoy lit switches?
I have not measured it yet. Also, I just installed them and have not let them run for a few days.
I see you have the aluminum switch button. Will that light tail stand with that button?
My S6 with METAL lghted button will not tail stand. The button stands proud of the cap’s back ring.
However, on my T6, the lighted switch with Rubber button can still tail stand no problem.
I just replaced the metal lighted button in my blue C8+ with rubber lighted buttons. Now it tail stands. Also, I learned that the blue C8+ switch retaining ring is left-hand threaded.
