@alumenum, I have a Convoy S21B with the B35AM, and it works great on my bike, no smoking at all or any issues outside of being rosy on turbo when neutral would be better.
No problem with my M21B with B35AM. In fact it is the coolest running Convoy flashlight I have, by a wide margin, as if it’s not driven high/hard enough. I posted the following informal comparison a while ago:

@simon, I have an interesting question.
I’m planning on ordering another S21B soon, and I noticed that you offer different types of 21700 cells in the battery section, including the EVE INR21700E.
My plan is to order the S21B with the EVE 21700 cell instead of the usual Liitokala cell.
Is there a special link I can use to do this or do I pay you in a different manner? For good reasons, I don’t want the cell to be shipped separately because of high shipping costs 
I can’t see the battery pages/links either…seems to happen a lot with cells on ali from US location. On the topic of choice, though, I think the 50E is great in a lot of lights. As you push up toward the 80% mark of the CDR then it’s diminishing returns and a high drain cell with less capacity might do better and give the same or longer run time. I’ve been really happy with the 50E in several lights…they just don’t pull the amps. I have a lot of 40T and the Sofirn cells, too, and in some lights it’s worth it.
If you have affordable access to the Vapcell G50, that’s a Samsung 50G inside and it’s a noticeable improvement over the 50E…less sag and the same nice high capacity. I got a couple of those for use in Simon’s zooty UV light with the SBT10X high power emitter and the boost driver…big difference in run time since those like more forward voltage. Definitely saw improved output and runtime in an S21B outfitted with the LG emitter, too (plain driver). Great cell.
Try SFP55 , double bright than SFH55 , but you need highter output driver like 54A or more

I applied for a refund (sent a video of the smoking LED) and it was approved within an hour.
This is the kind of excellent customer service that had me immediately shopping for another Convoy light. Really amazing. Thanks, Simon, for such awesome service as well as all you do for the community, and all the awesome lights you make.
Maybe preaching to the choir on here, but just wanted to follow up and share how awesome Convoy is.
Thanks, cannga. I had seen that comparison, and read a lot of your great write-ups before purchasing the S16. Mine doesn’t get very hot on 100% either, but still smokes.
Thanks, BlueSwordM. Seems like no one else has the smoking issue, so I’m inclined to believe mine was indeed an isolated case as Simon suggested. Yea the tint is quite good. Better than 519A especially on low levels. It’s hard to really nail neutral without being green on low. I suspect it’d be even better on the S16 if it had a green AR coated lens instead of the purple it comes with.

EvE batteries have good performance and are cheaper.

I have an M21C-U that will work fine for a couple of minutes but then won’t go above the lowest mode. I tried charging/changing the battery, changing the driver, and changing the emitter. What else could the problem be? I don’t really know what else to try
