Convoy T7 AA 14500 flashlight

Has anyone tried this light? I’m tempted because I have a couple of spare 14500 hanging around. My only concern is can it turn on accidentally in your pocket because of the side button?

1 Thank

I have one and I gave one to my mom.
I wouldn’t recommend it for pocket carry due to the button like you said.

The T2 or T5 would be better for pocket carry.

2 Thanks

I got a T7 for myself. A rather nice dark green colour.

I’m quite impressed so far. I really like the metal button; it has a nice soft feel to it which feels good quality.

Charging with the USB port is nice too. I used a 2.4Ah charger and measured 0.6A current so it does limit the charging to a sensible level for the small cells.

Feels better to use than the T3 so far.

Simon changed the design a little bit on the new color ones.
On the old style, It was hard to find a USB-C cable that would fit it.

3 Thanks

Hard is an understatement, I only have 2 cables out of my dozens that would fit :smiling_face_with_tear:

2 Thanks

I haven’t found a cable that doesn’t fit in mine yet.

have you try lego the tailcap of the t7 with t3/2 for the sake of locking the light for pocket carry..
cheers :flashlight:

I was actually just thinking that the other day! It doesn’t fit, sadly.

Also one minor negative - the magnetic tail isn’t strong enough to attach it to things.

what emitter? hows the ui? etc etc

Emitter: 519A
Colour temp: 5700K

UI is good, when it’s on you press and hold to change the mode.

The first one I got had a weak magnet, the second one had a strong magnet.

1 Thank

Interesting. Mine is very weak.

The magnet I bought from the convoy website to attach to my T3 is very strong, though.

1 Thank

Yeah, my first one wouldn’t even stick to the side of my fridge, it kept sliding down.

1 Thank

So which colour is your second one?

They are both the OG Black with the wave knurling.

Not my picture but they both look like this:

I can vouch for the T6 working well in a pocket too. I got one with SFT25r for the ultimate pocket thrower, but I think I’ll probably get another one with a 519a at some point too.

T6 is more of a thrower, though; different use case.

Depends on what you want out of a pocket light. Also, how throwy it is depends a little on the led you choose. Most people get the SFT25r for throw but it seems like it produces more of a combo beam with 519a.
