Generally, I find that for compact lights, clear TIRs out-perform reflectors for throw, given the same diameter. This is mostly due to small reflectors like S2+ being misshapen enough to be unable to focus a small-die LED. For a floody emitter like B35AM, there’s likely no throw difference.
Tint-wise (which is important IMO for high CRI emitters), TIRs far out-perform the stock shallow reflector, which fails to average out the angular tint shift of a bare LED. In particular, I strongly recommend the 30deg beaded TIR, which is actually much throwier than the label suggests and does a fantastic job smoothing out artifacts and tint shift.
