I’d love to have it in M26D

I don’t really understand what that means, is that another custom mcpcb size? What’s the problem with 20mm copper pcb?
It depends on how you use it. For me, Turbo mode is a blessing, allowing me to get more out of the flashlight than its weight suggests. With a 4-LED headlamp on, I use the Turbo searchlight to illuminate a distant object for a few seconds (for instance, when I spot 2 eyes in the darkness). The headlamp and Turbo searchlight have been my favorite setup for years.
My wallet is ready for the M26K! ![]()
100%. Each of us has different reasons for why we buy certain flashlight. It’s called “use-case.”
Personally, I have one more reason for flashing the 20000 lm kind of Turbo: because I like it. The wall of light effect is beautiful to me. But I understand others have no use for it. ![]()
I kind of already Lego’d one together using my M26D body, M21J head, and M26C switch ![]()
Edited the switch part, i used the M26C switch
Awesome !.
Does it all properly fit together ?.
I have just asked Convoy if they can make me a 2S2P Nichia 4*519A Convoy M21H because they have a 4x219 option on the website.
Everything threaded together perfectly, i will say though that i don’t run this light higher than 10% as the K62 that’s in it only has 15A CDR.
Good idea; please post his response. I’ve always wondered why Simon doesn’t offer 519a in M21H. Does 519a generate more heat than 219b when both driven with same driver/power? With the 4 LEDs together in a small space that’s the only reason I could think of.
A while back, I was thinking about a new UI for flashlights with a tail switch (like the S2+). The 12-group driver is inconvenient for me, since the strobe/battery check functions I need are in the main mode. I like the reverse feature in the BLF A6 driver, so I adopted it from there. Btw, my Ekoras R7 also has reverse movement, but only when memory mode is disabled. I also have Manta Ray flashlights, whose driver activates turbo by double-clicking and strobe by triple-clicking. And I had no problems with accidentally turning on these hidden modes. So, the ideal user interface for me looks like this:
1 full-press to turn ON
1 half-press (<0.5s): Moon-Low-Mid-High (w memory function)
2 half-presses (<0.5s): Turbo → 1 click (switch to main mode)
3 half-presses (<0.5s): Strobe → 1 click (switch to main mode)
5 half-presses (<0.5s): Battcheck (voltmeter) → another 2 clicks (Biking-SOS-Beacon-Battcheck) → 1 click (switch to main mode)
10+ half-presses (<0.5s): memory function on/off
Reverse function: do a long half-press (0.5-1.5s) to go High-Mid-Low-Moon
The 519A are actually more electrically efficient than the 219B.
BTW, Convoy said yes.
They are indeed willing to add a 519A option.
Now the question is: will it use the boost driver or buck driver?
If it uses the boost driver, I will buy it immediately.
Wow - great job. I can’t believe it’s that easy; you just have to ask! I hope @Simon_Mao will make 519a option for M21H appear on web site very soon.
The only Convoy I have with quad 519a is S21D, which runs super hot because of poor thermal regulation. AND over time its TIR optic likes to auto-decapitate the domes off 519a (at least mine does, Simon has said it’s from the tight TIR fit, or something to that effect).
I’ve been looking for a S21D replacement a long time. Buck or boost I will buy one!
2S2P in the M21H or even better this M21K would be awesome. I would probably be willing to put up with the side switch UI for that.
My S21D sees a lot of use around the farm. Tint, cri, lumens and flood. Durable. Its only drawback is lack of thermal performance. Sustainable lumens would be the icing on the cake!
I particularly like that the M21K doesn’t appear have a usb port. Thats an Achilles heel in the rain and mud.
519a 5700k dd is the ultimate outdoor tint for my purpose imho.
The description says it does have usb.
So it does. I missed that
. Oh well… I’ll still get one in a quad 519a if it happens.
There is a tread here I wrote months ago about this platform. BLFA6 menu is better than 12 subgroups.
I wait implementation of this feature or he change the menu because I need backwards option for levels, check battery..the Lux RC 371 has double click for the top level and backwards to come back. Very cool feature
