I’m also interested in the F150R becomming available and to see how it performs.

I have a (second hand) flashlight coming with 7x 7070 LEDs, for which the F150R might be a really cool upgrade, given that Simon mentioned they can handle up to 30A.

Really curious how they will perform!

I don’t know if Simon knows, when I asked like two weeks ago he sais it’s going to be a while because making new LED has its challenges, meanwhile he told someone else a few more weeks, maybe a month. Probably this summer though.

Which host(s) is the new TIR for the SFT25R compatible with?

Rough guess but maybe the L21A/B? The reflector for that light is 58mm though

Maybe that’s a typo and it was supposed to be 50mm like in the M21J/K?

Height to width proportion definitely differs from M21K’s lens. New TIR won’t fit that flashlight.

True, it does look taller. Though from a quick on screen measurement, even taking into account it’s angled slightly, it’s about d/h ~0.7 . So it’s ~56x39mm while the L21 reflector is 58x50mm (and the M21J/K TIR is 50x25,5mm which would scale up to ~56x29mm, no fit as well). Seems like a new light is coming :smiley:

L21B beam profile comparison at 130m, measurements at 30 seconds. The SFT40 isn’t exact, but it is very close to what I can remember.

SFT25R, SFT42R, SFT60 are using the 11mm hole reflector. The SFT40 is using the old 9mm hole reflector.

Using the current 9mm won’t achieve these ranges.

The SFT42R is using the 17mm driver with adapter. The 22mm driver reduces to 80% within 30 seconds.

When I see this very good comparative test, I think that for me best is SFT42 with good range, solid amount of sidelight and medium power consumption. It is bad that 22mm driver stepdown veey fast.

Does this rapid reduction also affect the SFT60’s 15A driver?
I just bought two of them. I’m not too happy about it, but I plan to use them at 8–10A by replacing the shunt resistor.

No, only the 22mm 10A buck driver.

The 15A & 20A buck do have the bug where group 10 is missing the 10% level.

I agree, everything else is too high, at least for a single cell flashlight. For 2+ cells the SFT60 would be fine though. Hopefully, we don’t have to wait too long for the 5000K variant.

Did anyone try to use the 20a with the SFT60? Maybe it reaches 4200 lumens and 1400m?

Note: the 17mm 10A driver seems to measure less lumens at turn on compared to the 22mm 10A driver.

17mm = 2900 lm 6500k / 2800 lm 5000K
22mm = 3100+ lm 6500K

Hopefully, Simon gets the 22mm driver fixed.

Thanks. Luckily, I wasn’t planning on using that mode group, but it’s funny that each one has its own unique flaw. They should test them somewhere before they mass-produce them.

The issue with Convoy is, any driver can change in a future batch without notice, we’ve seen this early stepdown bug appear on the 8A buck driver before.

Yes, I know, I read your post earlier, which is exactly why I decided to order something I haven’t heard any bad things about yet, and I’ll modify it. It would be great if we could reprogram them.
