Yep, nice idea. Pity I don't have 9 volts batts.

9V batteries are very expensive, and the capacity is very low. A "9V" (= 7,2V) GP Recyko is only 150mAh, the Recyko AAA is 850mAH, the 9V (7,2) is 1,08Wh, the 850mAh AAA is 1,02Wh. There are many AAA lights that are brighter than 6 nichia leds, a AAA flashlight is smaller than that 9V light.

Rechargeable 9V Nimh-batteries are only 7,2V it is possible that the voltage is too low for the leds in series...
