CRKT Knives at Big 5 Sporting goods

I just saw an ad for the Columbia River M16 and also the 10KZ tactical knives, both with Zytel handles (?).

Your choice $14.99, prices good through May 14. So if you are in the U.S. and want to buy locally, looks like a pretty good deal. Regular price is listed at $39.99

I have one CRKT knife and it has been a great knife so far, had it for about 4 years.

The one I have is called a Wild Weasel, I don't think it is in production anymore

Zytel is a trade name for fibreglass reinforced nylon. Pretty standard knife handle material. Good deal on a CRKT knife - they do have lifetime warranties. The Chinese versions of this knife are better than the Taiwanese versions (better steel).

Yes, I've had a rifle or two with Zytel stocks. My (?) was that they called them Zytel handles.

Maybe if they had said Zytel scales, the general public would have assumed they were dual-purpose tools that both cut and weighed your stuff

I have a few crkt knives. Bit exe down under though.

There is a Big 5 Sporting goods store just a couple of blocks fromo where I work so I went in and picked up one of these knives. It is a decent knife for $15 but it has one peculiarity if you are thinking about buying one. It's an easy knife to flip open one-handed, but it is a bit*h to close one handed. It actually has TWO lock-outs that must be pressed to close the blade. (1) a normal liner-lock that you press with your thmbnail, and (2) a special tang on top that you must also press to close the blade. See photo, it's that red thing.

I asked the store clerk, "do you have to use two hands to close it?" He said, no, you can do it one-handed. He proceeded to show me and promptly cut himself with the blade...

So, nice knife, but be aware you need extra fingers to close it with.

I have a SanRenMu B6-T21 that also requires two hands to close. The red ovals in the 4th and 5th photos below are where the two locks-outs are:

I bought this knife because I thought my mom could use a seat belt cutter and glass breaker for her car. I can close the knife just fine, but the problem is that my mom can't; her hands don't work like they used to. If I had to do it all over again, I would try an Enlan M016 because it looks like it would be easier to close:

By the way, I have only found the Enlan M016 from this eBay seller.
