I wonder how the math works out on that. More thermal mass but ya more power for longer from the same SoC with a good 21700…only 1 way to find out…

Barely any more. It’s the same head diameter.
My 4000k 90cri XHP70.3 was from the first batch so it might not be representing what is currently in stock, it has a neutral (slightly green) spill and a yellow/greenish hotspot. Hopefully the new ones have a better tint.

Hmmm. Looks fine, but I don’t know that it’s going to supplant my DM11 w/ 26800 tube.

And a much nicer beam profile IMO. I’ve had a D1V2, which has the same reflector as this new D1K, and I just find the TIR to be more pleasant.

I’d say its a different use case, the DM11 is a jacket pocket thrower, the D1v2 and D1K are (barely) small enough to fit in a pants pocket.
Would be nice if Hank had the option for the Ledil Olga TIR in the D1, but it’s a relatively simple mod, just needs a 3mm copper shim.

My only grievance is no option to add a magnet in the 21700 tailcap. I realize there’s a good reason there isn’t a magnetic tailcap option and that I can just buy the 26800 body tube if I want one or add one myself and that I’m just being petty and irrational but dammit I need my magnets jack
Hmm, do you know if this also applies to the original D1?
I don’t have one to test, but it uses a different reflector so probably not. I could exchange from you it for a new D1 though
