befor i discovered BLF,
i did this mod back then when i didnt even realizeded that drivers are there to limit current, mods, protection…
this light use to have elctronic swich for on/off at the front and potentiometer at the back on the battery pack to dimm the light,
but while useing the light on high, it keep dimming the light as i was moving around. probly a bad potentiometer or some connection.
so i removed the circuit board, and replaced the elctronic switch with a toggle switch, i also replaced the wireing from the battery pack to the led, and it works great.
recently, the tilt mechanism (up/down) was broken so i made this new one, wich actualy works better as it dosnt have the preset angles, now i can aim at any angle, and its acting as a hitsink too,
i also made a chrging soket so i woulnt have to replace batterys,

i had to file the back of the plastic that hold the pill, so when tighting the 4 screws, the pill will compress on to the aluminium board,
and with some thermal compound, the new tilt mechanism acts as a heatsink

this light is realy old, like 5 years or so, cant remember when i got it, but it was the only one i had so naturaly it worked alot… only recently i got more then just one light lol,
served me well over the years, i even had to replace the stock hadband with a new one after so much use.

and here is the charging port made out of an old nokia phon, the yellow shrink is covering 3 diods to mach the volts needed to charge 3 x AAA
its about 4.1V and realy low current like 80mAh or so, slow but im not in a rush here, works great.
