Yeah, Ali has some special protection on images at their site.
Seems like a great deal. Even if it's cheap quality, there is some good stuff that can be salvaged from it. Must be a pricing mistake. Ordered one out of curiosity.
For $3.40 I took the plunge and bought one. I can’t imagine ever using their charger but maybe someone can report on how decent (or not) it is. I didn’t see anything about low voltage protection so I assume there is none. I guess I’ll have to pick up some protected batteries or be extremely careful using my unprotected ones.
For $3.40 one can’t expect too much. All I want is for it to last through my next African vacation in Feb. I’ll also bring a Convoy S2 and S2+ for backup and some spare o-rings so that I can mount one of them to the headband if the headlight goes poof. And I’ll have an extra 2 batteries for the Convoy’s on top of that
I got this exact headlamp. I paid about $20 about a year ago. It’s pretty bright for a headlamp. It’s worth the $4 that’s for sure. I have never used the charger. The tint is really blue though. And the switch is fairly sensitive, had it turn on by itself when I had it in my backpack.
Well, good luck with that. You can certainly piss off some hippo before it breaks . My advice: don’t pack it with batteries inside, the switch is the weakest part and is not replaceable.
Thanks for the advice. I always carry on my lights. I once had 20 lights in my backpack along with a Steripen. 9 were for myself, wife, and 1 kid, and the other 11 were presents for another daughter’s coworkers in Uganda. Not much room in the backpack for anything else
