not sure if this is a huge deal or not - but its enough of a discount to get me to buy one… the review is here Review Solarforce Z1
the input voltage is in question - not sure if rcr123 will work or not SLF says 3.0v, instructions say 4.0v and light says 4.2v - this DOES NOT matter to me as I will use with CR123

Damn, I’m just buying some equipment to help me re-scale some of my knives or I’d take one.
That looks like a sweet little EDC. If I didn’t have a CR123 light I would buy this.

thats why I jumped on it - I have about 10-15 cr123s and no lights I can use them in LOL.
I already have a nice rcr123 xml2 pocket rocket - I think this z1 will serve as my backup EDC

It says different colors available but no way to choose? Doesn't even list which colors they make. The battery confusion doesn't help, either.
on the solar force website
Go to products and choose led flashlights and then choose z1 z2 from the drop down menu

Could not resist that one… Hopefully this is gonna replace my old Nitecore EZ 123 as my edc.
It lists 7 lumens as a “moon” mode? … On my ZL H51w, that much light is called “medium” (M2, lowest medium available, but still).
Also, starts on high. No li-ion 16340 compatibility. Forward-clicky. I haven’t found any posts about what the tint is, either, or if it uses PWM. This thing really isn’t designed for me.
16350 capable?
Very cool looking little light!
Nope, the posts I found say that it doesn’t really work on Li-Ion; it basically goes direct-drive only. 18350 / 16340 / 16350(?) would only allow it to run on high.
However, you could use LiFePO4 and a lower-voltage charger.

The capacity of cr123’s in LifePO4 is abysmal though :_(

Almost ordered one until I saw that it wouldn’t take 16340s. Thanks for the heads up!
