decent(?) brick 'n mortar buy for CR123's

Ok… so I went to lowes’ to return/pick-up some plumbing stuff; checked out the flashlights (sad but nothing new that I hadn’t seen here on BLF); checked out the battery section as I needed some 123’s

Not as cheap as web buying, but they had retail-carded surefire’s two-packs for $4.42 dated 05-2022

There wasn’t a lotta stock and they have less now  Way more energizers for more than twice as much

I might try and do aruntime test like Old Eyes.

Anyway, anyone have experience withe the surefires? They also say “Made in America” anyone know who makes ’em here in the USA???

If they’re recommended I’ll try and get some more from a place like amazon or any recommendations for cheaper?

Thanks in advance.

I believe Lowe’s charges twice as much for the Energizer CR123 because generally people associate that brand of CR123s with camera batteries and will buy them at that price. The Surefire cells should perform at least as well as the Energizer cell; if I recall corrrectly Panasonic manufactures them for Surefire.

Thanx Slim Pickens :PANASONICS would be great. Weren’t many two-packs of the surefiresf ound them buried near some COAST torches on a stand near checkout… now starting to wonder if their not counterfeit… will message/call surefire tomorrow

AGREE: the Cr123s are all WAY overpriced… problem is in my area as ALL of the stores - and I drove round a lot - were basically at 5$/battery.

Hope the surefires are good… will be buyin these off of the web in the future if they are… so far the cheapest is some place called batteryjunction @$1 per but it’s private label… :weary:

You buy cr123's online ,,Never at a brick and mortar ...I think lowes is one of the lowest priced places but they are still way too expensive ..run rechargables and primaries buy them on ebay or from online dealers ..

That’s a great deal on cr123’s, I’ve had a lot of experiance with Surefire cr123’s as both Cabella’s and my local Surefire dealer P&D Enterprise’s sells them for $3 a peace or if u buy in bulk even cheaper.
They stand up much better then Streamlight cr123’s and there a little better than energizers too. I don’t get may panasonics.

I think I remember hearing somewhere that the Surefires (at least some) were rebranded Rayovac’s. Anyone know if there is any truth to this?

The only advantages to buying from brick and mortar over online are time and package dating. Plan ahead, buy now. 8-10 year shelf life. I can get them from Craig at illumination Supply in 3-4 days for $1.75 ea.

SureFire, Streamlight, Rayovac, and Duracell CR123’s (made in USA ones) are all manufactured in Panasonic factory in Akansas.

Gotcha. Thanks.
