Dan. You are very old and I hate to also add that you need new glasses. Have you noticed that the dog does not move unless you pick it up and move it? If you put new batteries in it, it will yelp at you when you squeeze it.
Excellent work on the leash. I wish you all the best in selling them.
Hey Jack, you’re the 2nd person to say it looks like a spool weave! It’s an 8 cord braid, weaved by hand, well hands. Otherwise spot on mate. That’s the first time I’ve done an 8 cord Gaucho knot and it worked great, you can’t see any of the ends, not burnt bits at all.
One of my best friends is the retired President of the International Guild of Knot Tyers (PAB). Melted ends really piss him off. He earns his living selling his knots (fobs, lanyards, leashes, coverings, rigging, etc.), and he guarantees them for life.
I hope you’re more lucky than he, as the $2.00 special melty-ended “tacticool” junk on eBay sells for almost less than the material cost. It’s that same “race to the bottom” the rest of the world is experiencing…
But you do Good Work, so keep it up! More of us doing it the Right Way, leaves less room for the “Butane Backsplice” crowd…
Thanks for the kind words guys. You make me smile!
Yes, all sorts. Wrist lanyards, knife/torch lanyards, neck lanyards, key fobs, dog leads, bracelets, zip pulls, belts and a few others things that I have forgotten about have all been made before.
Feel free to send me a message if there anything specific you were thinking of.
