I like the way you think! I want a poorman’s DEFT-X. Something for a less than 200 dollar total that throws like my TN31mb but is an aspheric. I think you might be on the right track here.
500m clouds should be ok if you are at a dark location. For my city location, i’d need the clouds to be pretty low, like at most 300m. You might be pointing at clouds that are not directly overhead, so the “actual distance” is like 20% more than that.
Of course if you are talking about clouds as low as this (150m) then yeah that’d be very bright.
Seriously, if you wanna just play cloud bounce, just get a cheap $30 greenie with adjustable focus. That’d even blow away the DEFT-X. (i measured my cheapie 20 bucks greenie to be about 5 million cp and seriously i don’t even know how’s the sensor sensitivity to be at 532nm).
hello folks, i’m new to this site, and the flashlight hobby. my xsearcher just arrived today, it’s awesome! i have a question; could anyone tell me how to change out the led/pill module? i gave it a look but couldn’t figure out how to unscrew it from the neck section. do i need a special tool? i have the red led, xre ez900 and ir850, as well as the installed xml t6. can’t wait to play around with these. any instructions are greatly appreciated.
I got both the Dereelight Nightmaster and Xsearcher. Both are super super long throwing flashlights. I was shocked to see how far they can light something up! Pretty small too. The aspherical lens is what does the trick. I picked up one from flashlighthut 2 days ago and now I want the Javelin. MUST SEE. I think I will do a review for everyone to see.
