Thanks for all the encouragement guys it means alot. My eye has been lasered twice and I’m going back for a third laser next week. The third doctor I saw, who is also the one I’m going to see next week does all the eye surgeries in the area so he must be pretty good. He said that the first guy who lasered my eye did a really good job and he added a bit more. He thinks that the retina tear has been repaired but it is hard to see cause of all the blood.
Next week after the third laser he will decide if I need the surgury to stop/drain/remove the blood. I’m not actually sure what he needs to do.
I know sometimes at Wimbledon and don’t make sense about stuff when it comes to lights but I have had retinopatby on my life with diabetes please read what I posted earlierand I have that surgery I see with 70 percent restored vision in my right eye that was completely blind for 8 months before the surgery
So I got some more laser blasting in my eye today. He says the tear has been repaired but the blood is not leaving my eye quick enough and hes afraid that it could tear again. Looks like I’m going for surgery next week. :~
Ouch. Goodluck, its really scary to be on the edge of losing sight. Hopefully things will stabilize. Do they have a diagnosis/theory why this happened?
If you do have to get a scleral buckle, stay away from new/experimental materials, or they may have to go in and take it out again later if it doesn’t hold up
Can drain and and refill with a synthetic fluid I know I have had exactly what happened to happen to me 20 years ago they drained blood because all I could see w a s orange from all the blood that pooled up so they drained filled with f luid and stich back eye up.
Good luck w/ your surgery. My Dad, 88 and still chugging, underwent vitroretinal surgery over a year ago. The surgeon is one of the best in New England and he performed a miracle for Dad. You might inquire if he can do the “Riddick” upgrade while he’s working.
