I received mine yesterday, about 2 weeks after I ordered it.
Tested mine in combination with one XM-L.
Freshly charged batteries (AW 2600, protected and NCR18650B 3400) it pulls up towards 3,3A on the tail. When voltage is a bit lower it will soon be closer to 2,7A.
Mine is not regulated, that is for sure. I would expect higher current if it was direct drive though.
On low, mine pulls 0,7-0,5 depending on the battery voltage.
I have not tested it with cells that are quite low.
Mine have next memory mode. Not a fan of that, but not that annoying when only having 2 modes.
Its a little delay when changing modes where the light is all the way off.
Its a slight “whine” on low (like a nanjg 105C on low, only different whine).
I have not checked out efficiency.
Mine came with spring and wires.
For the price, I cant complain. I did not have high expectations either. But it seems like there are variations out there on this driver.
Compared to the one marcl got its easy to see that its not the same. Low is lower on mine, and I have next mode memory.
Based on my first impressions, its a decent 2-mode driver for the price.
I think this confirmed what I said earlier. This product seems to have variations too it… Basically, you cant be sure what you get.
Looking forward for updates on modes and output.
They send the same driver every time but the first weeks there was a wrong picture.
This picture is now updated. I tested the driver at some amps with 3 parallel XML for some minutes it got hot but nothing burned.
Anyone tested the driver at a voltage below 3V?
I have made a RMA but they haven’t believe me that my driver worked from 2.5V upwards…and I am too lazy to test a driver again I won’t use ever.
It should be ok. I have ran a east92 direct drive, with a similar emitter. I wouldn’t recommend using a high quality battery though or one that can put out a lot of amps though. Mine pulls 2-2.5a with cheap red and silver ultrafires. I also used this driver on a green xre and it pulls 1.5-1.6a on a good battery. Hopefully this helps
Hi viffer750, thanks for bringing me here. The resistor that you bridged over doesn’t look the same as the picture as shown in Fasttech page . Do you think it is some kind of inconsistency?
And how about bridging the other resistor as well, would the current increase even more?
Nothing inconsistency, this is the same driver with identical parts.
The other resistor doesnt increase the current, at least when I changed its value. There was some effect, but I don’t remember exactly what happened.
