Disappointed with my Klarus Mi7

I make a video sometimes when receive a defective light for show to the seller that the light is defective…( wow…I make a video!!!)
If that does not arranged it, I open claim.
But I’m not kicking weeks and weeks and complaining ….

Banggood knows how to play the game and so do you. From your tone, I almost mistook you for a BG employee.

IMO the Mi7 does not live up to the hype even if some say it does. Other reviewers have said it is dim and quite a disappointment. With that said, carry on and defend it with all of your rhetoric. You do after all own one.

The light is defective, seems yes. But the seller need evidence.
I have 3 units of Mi7 (one sample and 2 bought by me and 3 runs fine, Why can not defend the light? I am honest, I always buy one unit and some times 2 units of the lights that I test if I have receive a sample.)

Received mine in black today, seems very good quality and functionality and is bright but sure does not seem 700 lm. I realize the diminishing returns where a 1000 lm light doesn’t look twice as bright as a 500 lm and that the small diameter and size of the reflector impact beam size and throw while the coolish tint will tend to maximize the brightness to the eye. In comparison to my other 14500 capable lights the Mi7 is brighter than the Olight S15R and Thorfire TG06 but seems not quite equal to my NW Thrunite Archer 1A V2.

Light is certainly bright enough for EDC and is a great package in terms of size and function. Maybe it is 700 lumens but certainly not what most buyers were expecting

Mine will not be my EDC due to a low mode way too bright. And it certainly misses a moonlight mode for night fridge hunting…
Plus, red is not red but I already said that too many times :zipper_mouth_face:

How is my post unjustified? My Klaris isn’t bright compared to lower output flashlights I own. You would think that having a smaller hotspot than my first gen SC52, and my S1, the beam would be more intense than those two. It was just the opposite. I ended up giving it away to another BLF member. He’ll have it on Monday. Let’s see what he thinks.

Well, having a thread title saying “avoid” is a bit over the top. You should hope that Klarus don’t have good lawyers, as this thread is quite high up the google search rankings for this light!

Just because a light doesn’t meet your personal needs, or is not as good at some things as other lights in it’s category, doesn’t justify an “avoid” in the thread title. Based on many posts on here and CPF, there seem to be a lot of people that do like this light! Yes, the claimed output is rather optimistic, but for it’s medium price point this is a pretty impressive light. You are comparing against lights with 25-50% higher price !

Yeah but Klarus is claiming 700 lumens, while to 2 lights I compared it to are 500 lumens and are noticeably brighter . I purchased it based on it’s claimed lumen output alone. IMO, it’s a huge disappointment.

Did you ever think to take any measurements? If you own a smart phone or table, there are free lux meters you can install.

Visually “guessing” output is a very poor way of gauging how bright something is.

Point is, I’m tired of Banggood assuming people are stupid. To the general public, maybe that is the case. But on BLF, most of us are in the know.

Send out a light that is proclaimed to be puttin out a conservative 550 lumens is one thing. But 300-350 is UN-Acceptable Yes, 14500 yields maybe @ one hundred more lux than NIMH…but the total outut is still @300-350 lumens. This sample Mi7 is clearly a DUD… I don’t need the hassle of assembling a film crew to produce a video to prove that. It’s the principle of Banggood doubting buyers reports. Especially since this is BLF forum and the OP and I have been around going on 5 years now.

ETA: I won’t be commenting any more on this as it’s a souring experience. Through 4 exchanges, the ball is now in BG’s court. Some of you may say I’m not playing by their rules by not sending a video. If that’s the case, read the first paragraph above again
