Today my DQG Faerie arrived which I purchased used. It came with six 10180 cells, the charging cap, and of course the Faerie. Everything thing was in fantastic shape and works way better than I imagined. This light is TINY! What to do with all the accessories and cells so it all stays together and doesn't get lost? Make a case for it, that's what. I had a nice 18650 dual cell case with a nice latch on it that would be perfect for the job. A piece of dense foam (cut from a Harbor Freight floor mat) cut to shape and I was in business. Originally I was going to lay the cells on their sides which wouldn't have left enough room for everything to fit comfortably. Then I remembered that these cells aren't like any others I have. At just 18mm in length I could stand them up and they'd still fit in the case exactly. Everything worked out perfectly. I'm quite proud of it for some reason, probably for the simplicity of it but mostly because the whole damned light and 5 spare cells plus the charger fit inside an 18650 case with room to spare. Amazing!
too cool! I had placed an order with Ric for the Fairy, charger, and cells. I saw the thread you purchased this from thinking you got a better deal than I did. And now you have this in your possession already, and who knows where mine is at! Looking forward to the tiny flooder.
Thanks, Steve. Yup, an 18650 dual cell box. I knew this light was small but I was not prepared for just how small. I’m wearing mine on a neck lanyard. The beam is flawless flood and really bright for its size. You would love it!
