Hey. I’m looking for a pocket knife around 6” or more for edc. Happenstance in my county there’s is a length limit on fixed blades but not on pocket knives. I am aware of Cold Steel’s offering’s, but they are a little out of my budget. Are there any extra large budget folders out there? Maybe a Cold Steel clone?
…….
6” blade length.
I’m not sure what to think of that. If it makes any sense, I’d like something a little more user friendly.
Harnds Blazer was the biggest chinese blade I had seen from the usual suspects. 23 and change at fast tech now it looks like exduct is out of them.
Tac-Force makes a 12.5” “Extra Large Spring Assisted STILETTO.” Almost big enough to get both hands on the handle.
A six is blade is huge for a folder. I’m not sure that a whole lot of choices exist. If you can deal with a little shorter blade, like 4.25 inches I think, the Spyderco Resilience is a great knife. You can get them on the bay for just a little over $40 shipped.
How large is extra large?
I have large hands (can pick up a basketball with 1 hand) and find the Enlan/Bee EL-01 and the Navy K-610 both good sizes for me.
They are both around $15.
The largest budget knife that I know of is the Navy K602:

It has a 4.36 inch blade.
I have its smaller brother, the Navy K603, and the build quality is not the best.
The largest budget knife that I own and wholeheartedly recommend is the Kershaw Tremor:

It has a 3.75 inch blade. I'm a sucker for Kershaw assisted openers, and this is the biggest that I own.
Honestly, it's a little too big for me, and I have huge hands.
Its build quality is excellente! 8)
Thanks RC! I’ve always wondered about that.
12.5” confused me. But the stiletto looks good along with tac-forces other options. Do you own one Luminous? If not does anyone know the quality of tac-force knives? I’m sure they’re all 440A
I don’t own one personally, but am semi familiar with the brand. It’s a small pond at the size folder you’re looking for. Like most things, you get what you pay for.
Spyderco is great. I’ve had a couple tenacious’s. I’m saving my next purchase from them for a large NON-laminate super blue folder. If they ever make one.
Yeah, good stuff. If you liked the Tenacious you would like the Resilience too. I always thought of it as kind of a poor man’s Military, and a very good value.
I own a Spyderco Resilience and a Kershaw Tremor (pimped by none other than Will Moon!) and I have to say that the Lansky Responder X9 is beefier and of similar quality. 4+ inch blade, Sandvik steel, Willumsen design, US warranty, and less than $35.
