Do you hope for power outages so you can enjoy your lights?

Ha ha… nice thought.
But around here, we hardly ever have any power outages. The last one was at least (over)20 years ago,
’waaaayyyy back when.
No chance to show off my photon blasters :expressionless:

No. Without electricity, I can’t watch TV, surf the net and cool my foods and drinks in the refrigerator. If I need to look for something in the place without lights, then it’s my opportunity to show off my flashlight/s.

I just go out hiking instead, like the one I just came back from. A type of voluntary blackout

I hate power outages but the flashlights do make them easier to deal with, especially like the 3-5 led lights set to medium and pointed to the ceiling.

Sounds a good idea. Have the family members together in dark by only one the light source—the flashlight, and talk something that happened before and anything that arouse your memory this moment.

I live in England. the only time we have power outages, some idiots been out in a big yellow buried cable finder…….

or some scumbags broke into a substation and stolen the copper bus bars :~

We had a good storm last night and I was hoping for an outage so I could justify playing with my lights. Alas, no such luck.

My power went out for about 5 boring hours today just as it was getting dark. I pulled out a few candles and took a nap. No flashlights other than a small TI around my neck.

Without computer access (and refrigerator/shower) it was a drag. Luckily it wasn’t off too long.

hell no since my brother is really scaredy cat and he became paranoid when the light is out.
last time i lend him my M170 he use it until the batteries is run out :expressionless:

+1.
even when we were in beach side surround by darkness, 2 of my big lights which use to lit the environment for few hours only received comment: “what, are you so afraid of dark?”

they just don’t really get the point :frowning:

This week there was a power outage for about an hour(I think it was planned to renew some cables or so) and I was super proud to charge my sisters phone with a power bank.
If I am honest I would like to have a longer outage to extensively play with my lights, but that will probably never happen.
I only can think of one time in my life a storm break a lot of cables and even in this situation it took only a couple of hours until THW came with their big auxiliary generators to power the village again…

I would guess in a longer outage, maybe for some days, everyone has to do a big barbecue to eat everything which was in the refrigerator…that would be a funny street party…

Heat wave this weekend. Power may go out, but unfortunately it'd probably happen during the hottest part of the day and be restored before the sun goes down. There's 4 outages in the county so far.

Yep, I’m a blackout chaser. LOL
When I hear on the radio there’s a district blackout close by, I grab some lights and go.
I live in the city where there’s a lot of ambient light generated from streetlights, office buildings, car headlights, condo’s, ………
Not what you would call ideal conditions. The light pollution in the air doesn’t help either.
When I go camping out in the countryside, I want to bring all my lights to test.
When the camping date is set with everyone going. The first thing I check is the moon phase. LOL
