Most of us have probably been collecting for along time, i got rid of all mine that i can think of a long time ago, but got one recently with a tool set, an 18V 50 lumen soaking wet Black and Decker light that ruins from a nicad 18V battery
I intensely dislike the artifacts and uneven illumination from a bulb so no.
hahahaha that was the first thing i noticed when i powered up the B&D light, the beam pattern was horrendous, i had forgotten about that
I still keep an incan minimag on my bedside table out of habit.
Just a few old mag lights and a few random old flashlights I can’t bring myself to throw away.
I have several incan D-sized mags on hand to use as hosts, but none to use as incandescent light sources. OTOH I do keep a 2xAA Mag around for demonstration purposes.
Yes, a 6D cell Maglite that really doesn’t like the LED conversion that I bought for it. It made a couple of the D cell Duracells leak with enough pressure to pop the rubber switch cover off. I’ve bought some D>AA holders to try it with Eneloops but bought a couple of Solarforce L2 series lights and see no reason to go back.
I gave mine away after I got my first S2
I still enjoy lighting bonfires and fine cigars with the bunch of overdriven hotwire incans (170-300 watt) I have but they are just expensive toys. Fun to build, but expensive.
I have one in the Goodwill bag. Had a 6V cube cell that was well past its prime. Good road hazard light.
I have & use a Vintage Surefire Executive Elite. Solid performer. I will have it stock forever probably.
I still have lots of them in my collection, though many of them are original vintage & antique lights.
All of my flashlights are powered by batteries. I don’t have powered by LEDs.
Another question might be: What percentage of the lights you own used to be incan? For me it’s about 60%. This does not include lights I bought for the specific purpose of modding but were lights I already had.
That too. i have converted many of my more moderns incans to LED.
Incan users will have the last laugh when a massive EMP or solar flare bricks all of our LED lights >)
My current EDC is a P60 incan. It’s an inexpensive Ultrafire 502B with a low powered incan drop-in.
I have several Mags I purchased new. I bought each one with the first paycheck from my jobs. It’s kind of my thing.
Then your behind the times
I have quite a few xenon bulbs for my Solarforce L2’s, the charger probably fried in the EMP wave though.
i still have lots of kerosene lanterns, Incans, and even some driverless LED flashlights with single resistors so i’m safe from EMPs.
