Along the lines of the bidet thread, who uses a handheld shower sprayer. I switched over my showers to these and find them indispensable. Great for rinsing the undercarriage, rinsing the shower walls and curtain, cleaning plants or washing pets.
Yes, I do. In Germany you will find them in most households, hotels etc, except for “modern” and more expensive bathrooms. Sometimes with a fixed mount, often on a rail where you can slide it up and down. On many models you can select between various jet settings.
We have a handheld in one bathroom. My wife is disabled from an elevator accident a few years ago and needs help showering. We use a shower bench as she cannot stand for very long and the handheld attachment works wonderfully.
Majority of bathrooms in the U.K. have them. I use ours for daily showering myself, rinsing soap and suds off the shower door and tiles, dog bathing, and if my backside has had too much real ale pass through it, washing my arse.
Yes, definitely get a better rinse. Remove the water governor - output is everything. Larger water flow but less time needed equals similar water usage. There was a Seinfeld episode….some guy selling black-market souped-up models from the trunk of his car.
Can’t do that with most of the ones here as the hot water is on demand, ie: it’s heated as it passes through the combi boiler and not stored in a tank.
Yeah in the US there’s ‘legislation’? to reduce GPM (gallons per minute) ratings on showerheads and even the aerators on the end of kitchen and bath faucets? Figured maybe the same elsewhere too. Even the commodes are censored with an aim at lowering GPF (gallons per flush)! Lol. Oh, water conservation should be practiced, but in no need of help from Big Brother, thank you very much. Lol some more!
Sure, but what I mean is the gas or electric powered boiler can’t heat the higher volume properly as it passes over the heat exchangers. I’d guess water volume could be increased by some and still give a good shower, but without a tank of stored water at an even temp it’s never going to be the wonderful North American type shower.
In the US, you can get tankless water heaters (on demand) that can heat the water for the whole house. I don’t have one, but my brothers tankless water heater can have 2 showers going at the same time with no issues.
Hi everyone, thanks for recognizing the political overtones that will quickly send this thread off onto a nasty tangent. Please strictly avoid expressing political viewpoints and political leanings and anything else that comes remotely close to that. I removed one post here, and others in reply to it should also now be removed. Thanks in advance.
