does interupting charging hurt batteries?

For example if you are getting ready to go do XXXXX.
Your batteries are showing say 4.00-4.19 on the charger, and you grab them because you need to get going.

How does that affect battery life/cycle.

Assuming this only happens on the rare occasion.

Thanks,
Jim

I hope not. I do it fairly often.

Lithium-ion batteries will not be damaged if charging is interrupted.
Battery life will be prolonged if the depth of charge-/discharge cycles is decreased.

P.S.: Use protected cells (with PCB), if the flashlight has no protection circuit(s).
