DQG III o-ring

Hey guys,

Does anyone know where to get some DQG III AAA o-rings?

I bought some from cnquality, but they sent me the wrong size and they have since taken the item off of their website. Would a generic 10mm gasket fit?

i have a bunch of olight is3 and similiar AAA flashlight diameter sized spare o’rings, where are you located? i might try and see if i can sneak it into a letter for you.

Thanks for the lovely offer Keron, but I’ve already tried olight i3 o-rings and they were too big.

aww too bad then, maybe try to find it off from some stuffs that might uses such thin and small o’rings.

I just found my original broken DQG o-ring and it’s 5mm. The ones cnquality sent me are 7mm.

Maybe I’ll try some generic 5mm from eBay.

from the pic it looks kinda thick but i guess it should be it, good luck!

The Ebay orings linked will be way to big. They are 50mm in diameter and 5mm in section. To get the correct oring the sectional diameter is very important. Smaller diameter orings of the correct sectional diameter can be stretched to fit in a pinch. Fasttech has lots of orings for vapers but could not see one in 5mm diameter. Thats a very small oring.

I have a AAA DQG II flashlight. The diameter of the o-ring groove is 11.23 mm. The o-ring diameter is 1.43mm as best as I can measure. The DQG flashlights claim to have 12 mm diameter so these o-rings have a chance of working. I might also order a bag of the 12mm ID ones as well.

If my experience looking at o-ring specs is any indication the “diameter” of these o-rings is the inner diameter, not outer.

I found these on e-bay and they are a 50 pack for $5.55 with shipping. I’ve just ordered 50 and will let you know if they fit. Might also be willing to re-sell some at cost since 50 is probably more than a lifetime supply

Where are you located?

I ordered some replacement o-rings together with the latest DQG AAA, due to their known propensity to chew them sometimes.

This is what I bought:

http://www.edc-light.com/10-pieces-of-rubber-o-ring-for-dqg-iii_p0909.html

$1.20 for 10.

They are pictured as red in the online listing, but below is what I received:

They are GITD, but exactly the size of what was on the DQG AAA (twisty) and DQG Slim (clicky), in both o-ring locations.

Both my DQG lights also came with more of these included in the box as spares (as seen in the photo). My newer clicky had these GITD in all locations, even where not visible, so it seems DQG may just be using them all over now.

Hope this is useful.

Keep shining,

Hirsh

How’s the glow? Wonder if they could be useful for other applications.

I purchased a 10 pack of those o-ring and they sent ones that were way too small, probably 5-6 mm OD.

I like the blue knife!

Its not a knife LOL its a SAK.

They glow nicely; it is the same effect as the o-ring under the lens of these lights. Doesn't take much to 'charge' them up, but they're more for effect than anything totally necessary!

Thanks mate, the knife SAK is a Vic Rambler - my preferred EDC. I rotate it with a Vic MiniChamp2 (Red) and Leatherman Squirt PS3 (Blue) for pocket duty (amongst others much larger!).

The o-rings pictures are indeed small (6mm-ish) when slack, but so too are the ones on the light itself. I just pulled off the stock o-ring that came on my light since I bought it new 3 months ago:

It is the same small size (give a mm for loss of elasticity). But once stretched on the light, you really wouldn't want anything wider else it would get pinched.

Have you actually tried using one of the small 5-6mm GITD rings that you received? Give it a whirl and see whether it still pushes against the head as you press it over the o-ring.

Let us know,
