I assume a lot of you/us here on BLF have/use Dremel rotary tools?
I have a Dremel 200. It’s two-speed (high and low) and corded, and not that old (maybe a couple of years).
I was using it today on low, and then I changed it to high and it started running REALLY fast. I have used it (not often) in high before, but I don’t remember it running that fast before.
Has anyone had this happen before? And, if so, is there a way to fix it?
Only have with variable speed, not just two modes.
Can it do the work you want it to do? Torque
If so and not strange sounds, smells or vibrations you may just hav not used it on high too long and have forgotten how fast is goes
It definitely has torque, even in high speed. I don’t know for sure if maybe like you said I just haven’t used it in high for awhile, but it really felt (and sounded) like was “running away”.
If it is the 200 series Dremel, 2 speed, high speed is 35,000RPM, low is 15,000RPM.
No doubt that 35,000RPM in your hand feels like it is about to take off!
Just imagine if it had a propeller attachment!
It is incredible really to be able to purchase
a consumer device that has those kind of speeds.
