Got this extra single mode driver i wanna use for something, i take it its basically a 1 amp unit correct ? Each 7135 is good for 350ma right ?
Good for a single 18650 low output project ?
Yeah 3x7135 is just over 1A.
One thing to note is there is no MCU so it won’t have Low Voltage Protection.
Yeh, a battery-powered table lamp, etc.
Should be good for 300-400 lemons.
Ahh yeah it will definitely need low voltage protection..
And any led would work ? I took a std 5mm one for 12v (had a pre installed resistor) hooked it to a 18650 and of course it was dim, clipped and removed the resistor and pop.. killed it. Guess a 3v led cant handle 4.2v
What keeps an led from popping with this driver ? Dont see anything that stands out as a resistor, well that one, but it has a 0 on it.
If you put a 20mA LED on a 1A driver it’s gonna pop.
You need an LED that can handle more than 1A.
The 7135 chips are current regulators.
That 0 ohm resistor is just a jumper. Pretty much the same as a solder blob bridging the contacts.
Yeah i took it as a CC driver, just didnt see anything that would control voltage, but i guess the led i popped was a very low amperage unit, hooking it up directly to a battery let it eat till its death..
Im starting to learn.. wishing now i had taking a class back in the day instead i went with welder/machinist area..
Now if i could build a battery spot welder out of some capacitors, that would be cool, been wanting to build custom packs and dont want to push my luck soldering the negative side of a 18650.. positive i dont see as a problem doing.
But a spot welder would be nice.
Need a way to charge the capacitor, and a pulse/discharge.. ideas ideas burned fingers oh never mind..
