Recently I purchased a drop in module P60 from kaidomain. It’s XP-L HI, 3-18V, single mode.
Using it in “Spiderfire x-03/Anyfire” with tube extension for 2 batteries.
There are few issues with it.
Current measured at the tail with two 18650 batteries was just 0,67A. With one battery 0,97A. New samsung 26F batteries, measured with (certified and every year calibrated) Fluke meter. I believe it can be run at higher current.
After the second time I recharge the batteries the light went like into the dim mode, regardless how many batteries in use. I bypassed tail switch and no difference. Next I supply the voltage directly to led to prove it is live and it was bright. Surprisingly after it the light went back to it’s original state.
Faulty driver? Should I get another one?
Any help with it, please (link is welcome), (17mm, single or 2 modes with memory, 2 batteries)
I send a question to kaidomain but don’t expect really much help there.
Hmm? They don’t show an output rating. So we don’t really know what output to expect. That makes it a bit hard as the output could be just 1amp. In which case there would be nothing wrong with the drop in. However, that seems unlikely to me and I agree you should be getting moremoutput. Typical for these drivers is between 2and 3amps
shouldn’t be, professional meter. as I mentioned regularly tested, has a certificate. And the torch even not trying to get a little bit hotter when on.
Ok lads, can anybody help with driver please. There is a big variety, I don’t know anything about it. What amperage it should be, ~3A or lower, as cooling can be an issue (it is drop in). Actually it never runs for a long time.
2 modes driver with memory would be better and can sort cooling issue. Can be for 1 battery, better for 2. Ta.
