Duv minus spray

The local discounter had Rosy tint Spray and Cheap LED bulbs.
So a stupid Friday night idea was born .

The result on the Ikea bulb:

It started at a Duv of +48 mDuv
I applied a relay thin coating did a test and went for a thicker coating.
I overshot and landed at -7mDuv

R9 also improved from 39 to 50!
My non calibrated measurement went from 394.4lm to 319.9lm so i lost 74.5lm so about 19% lumen loss

The Aldi e27 bulb started with a way better light. Only slightly positive +24mDuv and CIR 91 with a Decent R9 of 45

But i went all in and gave it a thick coating of the Rosy spar resulting in a -80mDuv and CRI of only 83 (but R9 still went up to 64)
The lumen output went from 176.9lm to 106.0lm.

i Also did one with the blue paint

and for compression all together with 2 different 40W incandescent Bulbs (“glühbirne”)

What happened to the output?

Cool experiment!

Interestingly, your bulb seems to use a very strange red phosphor that produces narrow-band spikes clustered around 610nm and 630nm. Your spectrophotometer doesn’t seem to have enough precision to resolve them as doubled spikes.

Yes IKEA seam to uses ksf phosphor now, and yes my spectrophotometer is nor very “sharp”
