I’d like to know if this reflector is any good. I’m thinking about using a host like this -
Obviously I will need to gut it and fill it with the sst-90, reflector and driver of choice. I just can’t find much info on the dx reflector. If it throws well then I might go ahead, throw is what I’m after. Can you point me in the right direction.
Firstly, please go with a MT-G2 instead of the SST-90. It puts out roughly twice the light for the same given amperage. Secondly, if you really want to go with the SST, I have one I’ll sell to you.
I may go with a dedomed MT-G2. I have a couple of emitters I can play around with. My fav light at the moment is an sst-90 on copper pushed well over 10 amps.
For the same amperage the MT-G2 should put out a heap more light since it is much higher watts than the sst. The MT-G2 will be more efficient than the sst-90 for the same watts but a dedomed sst-90 would be better for throw IMO.
The SST-90 should throw farther than the MT-G2. If both were run at 9 amps and were in the same hosts with that same reflector, the SST ought to throw farther, just because it will have a much tighter, more intense spot. The MT-G2 would look brighter overall, but that is deceiving. Lux readings are the only way to know for sure.
