Hmm i didn’t realize the triple without glass & quad with glass is about the same lumens, what XP-L is there in them?

K, the quad had XP-L V6 1A or 2A’s (can’t be sure, not good notes), while the triple has XP-L V6 3D’s definite. The triple throws for 27 kcd while the quad does 6 kcd - big noticeable difference. In lumens I measured they were within 20 lumens of each other on the best cell I tested, so well within any margin of error, both ~4300 lumens start, ~3900 lumens 30 secs.

Amps at the tails were 10A for the triple, 11A for the quad.

I much prefer the triple with some center beam, while the quad is a true flooder. I don’t know much bout these TIR optics, but the triple fills the head of the X6 really nicely, LED’s spread out on a bigger board, while the quad optics and MCPCB is smaller, compact but nitro’s quad heatsink of course is much bigger/robust for the quad.

That explains it :), i thought you meant the CUTE-4 quad with 4 10mm sinkpads had the same lumens output as the triple.
I think the CUTE-4 quad should have a more similar beam pattern as the CUTE-3 triple optic & should gain in lumens also.
And I agree about the 20mm quad i never liked that idea, compared to the CUTE-3 triple or the CUTE-4 quad.

EDIT the only V6 1A i have seen for sale where suspected to be V5’s I think it was LEDDNA who sold them, I think for example IOS sold V5 because they supposedly don’t exist in V6. I just now saw they actually have them in V6 1D, interesting i haven’t seen that before, nice a new top bin XP-L from under the BBL

If it where V6 2A you used, where did you get that from? Cutter maybe?

Ok - this was bugging me so I researched it from my order history... I found on Aug 8th 2014 I ordered 8 bare XP-L V6 2C's from Illumn for $56. They still have them listed, but out of stock. I built the quad up in March 2015, so probably was these XP-L's I used - V6 2C's then...

I don't recall the part names, but the quad was the one Nitro built/sold the large heat sinks for, I believe the quad used this special quad 20 mm MCPCB, and there was optics to match. I never built the wide quad with 4 separate MCPCB's - pretty sure Dale did, and others I guess.

Hey Nitro, can I get on the list for 1. I’m not picky on which material; whichever is cheaper.

Just to clarify, will these be the tall or short version (with or without a lens)?

Hey I’m keen on an Al spacer. Depending on shipping prices to New Zealand. I’m also in the market for a heatsink for a Courui D01 if anyone has any information about that, that would be great. thanks, much appreciated

Does anyone know if the SS/Cu lights will have the same internal dimensions as the original X6 so these spacers would fit? Has Dale etc tested it?

Yeah I’d be keen for a couple if they will fit. If we aren’t sure yet I will hold off and hopefully you will do a run to suit them when they are released.

The newer group buy for the SS/Cu will be a different inside the head for some reason ?? I have not looked at one yet to find out :(
