Hi High output was 1.8A with LG HG2 and max/turbo 3.1 amp, now high is still at 1.8a but max/turbo has dropped down to 2.3a, cells checked are fine. Not very impressed with this as i only used it 3 times so far. i purchased this through Ali Express. Also the centre of the hot spot has gone very yellow now as opposed to white.

Sounds like a weaker battery, from exactly what you are describing, depending on how the driver works - PWM or regulated modes. When you say checked out fine - can you check the voltage? If it’s not a high performance cell (or even if it is), 3.1A would not be maintainable as the battery depletes - this light won’t have a boost driver - it’s way too complex and expensive.

Not sure if the X5R is an improvement over the X5 - jury is still out on the charging. Been reported some failures in the X6R - I myself haven’t had enough usage feedback on it, but Mitko reported failures, and his friends/customers seem to get high usage.

The LG HG2 maintain 3.5 amps and higher in my UF C12 and other flashlights, its not the cells seems like something has happened to this Flashlight only, this was much brighter than the c12 and now there difference between high and turbo are hardly noticeable, even my wife and son noticed something amiss with it. I have even tried different makes i.e. sanyo and the same results occur.

You said the emitter changed colors? Does it look different when it’s off?

This is pretty weird - lost amps, tint shift on this thread OP's XP-L HI. If it was an XP-L, I might think the dome got damaged - happens all too often on XP-L's... But XP-L HI's seem pretty rock solid, but who knows. Maybe try to a close looksy at the LED covering layer.

Thanks guys, I just got nervous because I gifted my X6R before I got one for myself! It was a real nice piece, for me that side switch is a huge upgrade from the regular x6.

do any of these have a screw down reflector. I think that is a superb feature on a flashlight.
It caused me to spend more than I would have otherwise.
