Please put up a listing for X6 XPL-HI host only.
Strange we can get it from Gearbest (still $12.00 w/coupon) but can’t get it here.

Chances are that the led is almost centered, but just off, with no easy way to correct it. Out of the 4 Kronos lights I own, this is the case with one: I could correct the off-centered led partly by shifting the ledboard but then it hit the screws and I was not able to completely center it.

That, and reports of them being “stuck” in people’s lights and extremely difficult to remove without damaging something. I see that as a major drawback, and one that outweighs the few positives.

so is this DTP? this X6’s driver, tail cap switch, & reflector main diff from X6-SE v2 GB?

Thanks

I don’t believe EagleEye uses DTP. My X5R had copper, but not DTP.

thx

Hmmm, since early in this thread I had thought this XPL-HI version was claimed to be DTP (see post #17):

He wrote “high thermal conductive substrate” but didn’t say if it was brass or aluminum.

I can’t make out any brass in the OP photos but I’m pretty sure DTP can also be aluminum? (as long at it is solid metal straight through from LED pad to bottom of MCPCB?) Not as good as brass but still a Direct Thermal Path.

Maybe someone who bought one can chime in and let us know. Dale posted he bought several of these, not sure if he got them from this EE store though. And several others also posted here they bought it.

NikolaS did you ever receive yours?

by the by…. brass is terrible for heat (compared to al or cu), but strong… brass is an alloy containing copper and zinc (mainly). We see it for parts that are machined and need some strength as al or cu machined and with out special treatment are quite soft.

It’s hard to tell from this thread but it looks like Mr. EE evolved or altered the design a bit during the thread. Definitely folks have ordered. It seems non threaded reflector, pasted star that panhead screws (or washers) can be used for adding torque (at the cost of self centering), LD25 driver—giving up to 3.5A, ….and not much talk about switch quality.

I am 99% sure that mine X6 xp-l hi have DTP copper star under led. 99 because haven’t try to modify it,it’s perfect just the way it is. Same star like in new convoy L2 …

Is EE’s AE shop the only place to get the X5R right now? I see it listed on GB but as coming soon.

EE X6 XPL-HI MCPCB is copper:

Not sure if it actually DTP though.

Ok here you are the evidence that X6 XP-L HI 1A version have DTP copper board. I bought mine directly from Ali store,so I cant confirm that you will get the same if you buy it from GB, or BG. BTW my is still stock doing 3,55 amp on fresh cell .

If you see this straight trace patern with small cross in the middle like on Noctigon, then you know it’s DTP

^also layout is very close to identical of BLF X6 SE V2

This guy now sells bare X6 hosts (+F30 and A6 hosts)!!!

Minimum order of two but at $11 they are a steal.

BTW: received a XPL-HI 3A from this guy a week or so and am very pleased. 50K lux on turbo (30K on High @ 1.8A), very nice fit and small… this thing makes a C8 feel big. Easily my new go to light, really good value for $$$.

New color.

Weird editing flaw on the tailcap

Are you talking about the cut off tree branch?

Man my eyes were playing tricks on me…. I see it now :person_facepalming:

I’ve been trying to figure out if there was a way of disabling the strobe altogether so had a poke around with the solder bridges. As far as I can tell the one on the left (if looking at the LDCH text the right way up) disables turbo by making it switch back to high after about 1/2 a second… makes it difficult to switch from turbo to low mode. The one on the right (mine arrived bridged) doesn’t seem to do anything?

Anyone able to shed more light on this?
